Tell us about your personal wellness journey. What led you to where you are now?
There was a time where I really needed to take back control of my mental and physical health. I had some major stomach issues due to anxiety and not eating. I was in a toxic relationship and felt stuck. I was going through depression, anxiety, unhealthy weight loss, negative self-talk... you know, all the crazy! Taking control of my physical health was how I was able to take back control of my mental health, and because my health was the only thing I felt like I could control, I became obsessed! It was so empowering to take control!! Once I was out of my toxic environment, my anxiety went away. I started out small, making myself eat healthy foods, in small portions of course, until my appetite started to come back. I started getting my energy back and found I wanted to exercise and move my body. Once I started feeling better physically, I started to look within, and started dealing with my own shadows. There's a lot of stuff in between but that was the start of my wellness journey and I'm grateful to be able to help other women do the same.
How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I have been in the wellness industry for a long time and I realized I was really good at coaching- at sharing the information I learned for myself with others and helping them implement it. So, I got the training and began coaching!
How did you start your business?
Once I got professionally trained, I just started marketing and sharing information and here I am.
Knowing what you know now, is there anything you would have done differently when you were starting out?
Not at all!
What is the best business advice you’ve ever been given?
Just keep moving forward and be consistent. Reach out and find a community to help keep you inspired and motivated.
How do you persevere in challenging times?
I take a step back and breathe. Taking time for yourself, filling your own cup is what is going to help you get through those hard times. This is what I preach to clients so of course I am going to as well. You HAVE to take care of yourself in order to do the hard things.
What impact do you want your business to have?
It's my hope to empower as many women as possible so that strong, independent, fierce women become the norm and not the exception.
What knowledge would you share with someone who wants to become an entrepreneur of a wellness business?
I would say, not to do it alone. Find support whether its family or a community of other entrepreneurs and be as authentic as possible. It can be hard to put yourself out there but it's worth it.
What do you do for personal and professional development? (mentor, business coach, podcasts, etc.)
I am continuously taking continuing education courses for my certifications as well as attending women empowerment conferences and learning from other women.
What mantra or quote do you live by?
You can do hard things!!
What is your favorite wellness activity or hobby?
Going camping-being in nature. I also LOVE dancing more than anything.
What are a few of your favorite wellness products, and why?
My favorite wellness products are protein powders and Mary Ruths pre/probiotic supplement.
What are some of your favorite wellness-related businesses to support?
