2026 Barefoot & Free Yoga Festival

The 12th Annual Barefoot & Free Yoga Festival

August 7–9, 2026 | Proud Lake, Michigan

Twelve years ago, we started with a simple idea: that healing doesn't have to be a "hustle." It can be found in the rustle of the trees, the steady rhythm of your breath, and the quiet power of a community that truly sees you.

There is a certain magic in the passage of time; each year truly gets better as we deepen our practices and our connections, yet our roots remain exactly the same. This has become the best weekend of the year—the one our community looks forward to all year long. It is a beautiful thing to see families returning year after year, watching children grow up in these woods and seeing new traditions take root alongside the old.

This August, we return to Proud Lake to bridge the gap between deep somatic work and the unhurried joy of being alive. This isn’t just a weekend away; it’s a sanctuary designed for you to land, breathe, and remember who you are when the digital noise finally stops.

Leave the hustle behind. Come as you are. Stay as long as you need.

The Rhythm of the Weekend

Our festival is an experience truly unlike any other—a tapestry of movement, nature, and community that we’ve been weaving for 12 years. While our full schedule and teacher bios will be released in May, here is a look at the rhythm of our time in the woods:

**The Festival Gates**
Friday: 10:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Saturday: 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Sunday: 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM

(Note: All overnight passes (VIP Bunkhouse, Shala Bunkhouse, Camping + Red Poppy VIP) include a weekend festival pass. Passholders have full access to the grounds starting Friday morning through our closing ceremony on Sunday.)

**The Arrival Adventure**
Once you arrive and park, your journey starts with a transition. We offer a dedicated shuttle service to bring you into the heart of the grounds. (Parking is its own little adventure—be sure to check the FAQ for the full details on how we navigate the land together).

**More Than a Schedule**
While we have over 80 unique creative offerings—with teachers from all over the world specializing in yoga, wellness, movement, mindfulness, play, and music—the true magic of this weekend isn't just in the classes.

**Restore & Renew**
Throughout the grounds, you’ll find dedicated Activation Stations—curated spaces designed for you to be restored and renewed between sessions. Whether you are browsing our village of 40+ unique vendors or catching live performances at the Music Stage, the energy of the festival is always there to meet you where you are.

**Family & Future**
One of our favorite traditions is watching the next generation find their footing in nature. Kids attend free, and we have curated activities and classes designed specifically for them, ensuring that the best weekend of the year is an experience for the whole family.

**The Sacred Land**
The land at Proud Lake is special, calm, and sacred. With the Huron River winding through the grounds and miles of pristine hiking trails, the environment itself is your primary teacher. We utilize two distinct locations for the festival, and the trail that connects them is an invitation in itself—it beckons you to slow down, breathe deeply, and take it all in.

**Disconnect to Reconnect**
Whether you are barefoot or not, this weekend is your chance to disconnect from the "busy" of life and reconnect to the natural world and its inherent rhythms. Between sessions, we encourage you to wander the trails, sit by the river, and simply exist.

The Community Ripple: Bring Your People

Barefoot & Free has always grown through quiet whispers and personal invitations. This year, we’re honoring that ripple effect with a simple "Honor System" referral program. No tracking links—just humans.

**How it Works:**
When your friend grabs their pass on ThriveCart, they simply enter your name in the "Who referred you?" box at checkout.

**The Gifts:**
1 Friend: A hand-blended Ritual Gift waiting for you at check-in.
3+ Friends: An invitation to our Private Vuori Movement & Shopping Hour—an exclusive morning of community and curated apparel.
